A month building with AI

I read yet another AI post and thought, how the hell do people keep up with all this?

Every day there seemed to be something new. Another model, another tool, another “this will change everything” tweet.

That was my feeling most of this year and summer.

So in September, I decided to take action and joined 30 Days of AI from 💯 School. Partly to learn, partly to feel I had some agency again. It’s the perfect mix of small habits and practical learning. My goal wasn’t to master it all, but to actually make things.

What happened? AI stopped feeling like a flood and started feeling like something positive, a creative partner. A flawed but useful collaborator. Fast, occasionally brilliant, and sometimes a bit unhinged.

It was tough to keep it going every day for 30 days, but by giving yourself permission to skip a day here and there and catch up, it’s totally do-able.

Among other things I managed to build:

The biggest win wasn’t learning one tool. It was learning that curiosity, iteration, and action beats knowing everything, or feeling you have to. Want to see what else I did? You can see my 30 days gallery here.

How do you currently feel about AI?

If you’ve got 2 mins today, I’ve put my prototype Clocks Dash on Product Hunt. I’d appreciate any upvotes, or if you use Clocks Dash please leave comment. Thanks!

This tweet by KP caught my eye the other day. It really reflects my feeling about things now. What do you think?

Thanks for reading,

Mark
