What Gumroad doesn’t tell you

2 min read

Gumroad is genuinely great for selling digital products. Low friction, no nonsense, gets out of your way. If you’re a builder or creator who just wants to sell something without setting up a whole e-commerce operation, it’s hard to beat.

But there’s a gap.

I’ve been selling on Gumroad for a while now. And every time I log in, I see the same dashboard. Total sales. Revenue. A graph that goes up or down.

It tells me what happened, but never why. And definitely not what to do about it.

So I’d end up guessing. Is this product slowing down, or just seasonal? Do I have repeat buyers, or is everyone a one-time purchase? Should I bundle these two things or are they bought by completely different people?

Gumroad doesn’t answer any of that. You’re just left staring at numbers.

That bothered me enough to build something (of course it did).

So I brought RoadReport to life. It takes your Gumroad sales CSV and generates an instant report, focused on buyer behaviour. Repeat vs one-time buyers. Top spenders. Declining products. Bundle opportunities. And a set of “what to do next“ ideas that actually tell you something useful.

It runs in your browser, none of your data is sent anywhere or stored. It’s not yet AI based, it’s javascript that looks for patterns and dots to join.

Just drop in your CSV and get a report. Export if you like.

It’s free during early access so if you sell on Gumroad, I’d love you to try it and tell me what you think.

Talk soon,
